The feeling of a new season,
Early September always arrives with a specific kind of weight. It’s the way the light hits the floor at a lower angle, or the sudden, quiet realization that the frantic pace of summer has finally exhaled.
This is what I’m calling 'The Inner Season.'
Lately, I’ve been thinking about the difference between being still and being stagnant. For a long time, I thought I had to go somewhere else to find a sense of peace, but I’m learning that the most sustainable quiet is the one I weave into the mundane parts of my day.
I have finally settled into a routine that feels like it belongs to me. It isn't about productivity or "getting ahead"; it’s about the small, tactile anchors that keep me present. It’s the temperature of a brass handle, the weight of linen, and the permission to move a little slower.
I wanted to share this transition with you because I think we’re all looking for that same permission. To look inward. To set boundaries that feel like a relief rather than a restriction. To be kind to ourselves as the year begins to turn.
We are finding our centre.
We are interwoven.
With sincerity,
Sheila
