On the beauty of leaving behind,
We have passed the mid-year mark, a threshold that often brings a complex mix of accomplishment and inventory. Our scheduled June launch is now live, the structural work on the archives is complete.
The temptation, now that the goal is met, is to immediately begin adding: What is next? What should we accumulate?
This August, I am choosing instead to practice the luxury of subtraction.
I am focusing on The Art of the Edit. Our header image features only a terracotta bowl and raw linen—textured, grounded, and alone. It is a composition that values space as much as object.
Editing is rarely easy; it can feel sacrificial. We must decide what to carry forward and, more importantly, what to leave behind. We leave behind outdated professional expectations, clutter (mental and material), and relationships that no longer resonate.
The subtraction is not a loss; it is the curation of our freedom. By clearing the unnecessary, we make space for the personal and professional breathing room that defines actual luxury. It is a sincere act of empathy toward our future selves.
Choose well. Edit deeply. Find yourself at home within the space you create.
With sincerity,
Sheila
